Anthropic has released Claude Sonnet 5, positioned as its most agent-capable Sonnet model. It supports planning and the autonomous execution of complex tasks using tools such as browsers and terminals. Its overall capabilities are close to Opus 4.8, but at a lower price. The model is available across all plans, becoming the default model for Free and Pro users, and supports Claude Code and Platform calls.
