MagicQuill is an open-source AI-powered interactive image editing tool jointly developed by the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Ant Group, Zhejiang University, and the University of Hong Kong. Based on a user-friendly interface and AI-supported intelligent suggestions, it enables precise local image editing. Users can easily add elements, erase objects, or change colors using simple strokes and prompts, making image editing simple, intelligent, and efficient.

MagicQuill's main functions

  • AI-powered intelligent suggestionsBased on AI algorithms, it predicts user intent, provides editing suggestions, and simplifies the operation process.
  • Precise local editingIt supports pixel-level precise editing, including element insertion, object erasure, and color adjustment.
  • Three Magic Brushes:
    • Add brushAdd details and elements based on the prompts.
    • Subtract brushRemove unnecessary details or redraw areas based on the prompts.
    • Color brushPrecisely color the image, matching the brush color.
  • Canvas ToolsIt provides tools such as undo, redo, rotate, and resize to enhance editing flexibility.

  • Dual-branch plugin moduleIt enhances the diffusion model based on a carefully learned dual-branch plugin module, enabling precise control over editing requests.
  • Real-time intent predictionThe system analyzes the user's pen strokes and input prompts to predict the user's editing intentions in real time and automatically generate editing instructions.
