What is Hunyuan-Large?

Hunyuan-Large, launched by Tencent, is a large-scale hybrid expert (MoE) model with 389 billion total parameters and 52 billion activation parameters, making it the largest open-source MoE model in terms of parameter size. Based on the Transformer architecture, it supports text sequence inputs of up to 256K, significantly improving the processing capability for long text tasks. Hunyuan-Large excels in nine capability dimensions, including long context processing, Chinese and English natural language processing, code generation, and mathematical operations, surpassing mainstream open-source models such as Llama3 and Mixtral. Hunyuan-Large is trained using high-quality synthetic data, which enhances training and enables it to learn richer representations and generalize better to unseen data. The model employs Grouped Query Attention (GQA) and Cross-Layer Attention (CLA) strategies, reducing the memory footprint and computational overhead of key-value caching and improving inference throughput.
