What is AnimateAnything?
AnimateAnything is a unified and controllable video generation technology developed by researchers from Zhejiang University and Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics. AnimateAnything can precisely manipulate video, including controlling camera trajectory, text prompts, and user action annotations. Based on a multi-scale control feature fusion network, this technology transforms control information into frame-by-frame optical flow to guide video generation. To reduce flicker caused by large-scale motion, AnimateAnything proposes a frequency-based stabilization module.
The main functions of AnimateAnything
- Precise video operationIt enables precise control over video, including video operations under various conditions such as camera trajectory, text prompts, and user action annotations.
- Multi-condition controlIt supports unifying different control signals (such as object motion and camera motion) into an optical flow representation, simplifying the complexity of multi-signal processing.
- Optical flow guidanceOptical flow is used as a motion prior to guide video generation, ensuring the continuity and consistency of the video.
- Flickering problem reducedFrequency-based stabilization modules reduce video flicker caused by large-scale motion and enhance video temporal consistency.
The technical principles of AnimateAnything
- Multi-scale control feature fusion networkA network is constructed to process different control signals and convert them into frame-by-frame optical flow. This network handles explicit control signals (such as arrow-based motion annotations) and implicit control signals (such as camera trajectories).
- Optical flow as a priori motionThe generated optical flow is used as a motion prior to guide the behavior of the video generation model, enabling precise control over the video generation process.
- Frequency-based stabilization moduleThis method enhances temporal consistency by modifying features in the frequency domain, thereby reducing video flicker and instability caused by large-scale motion.
- Two-stage video generation process:
- Phase 1:Various visual control signals are converted into a unified optical flow representation.
- Phase Two:The generated uniform optical flow guides the final video generation, ensuring semantic consistency between the video and reference images and annotations.
- Frequency domain feature modificationFeatures are modified in the frequency domain using Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) and Inverse FFT (InvFFT) to maintain feature consistency during video generation.
