OpenAI has partnered with SB Energy, NVIDIA, and the U.S. Department of Energy to sign an agreement to use approximately 8 GW-IT data center capacity at the Ports-Pike Technology Park in Ohio.

The project will be constructed, owned, and operated by SB Energy, with capacity gradually delivered to OpenAI through a 20-year lease. The initial 800MW is expected to be operational by 2028; NVIDIA will invest $1.5 billion in SB Energy and provide credit support for the initial 4.25GW of IT-related construction. The project is still subject to infrastructure, permitting, environmental reviews, and financing conditions.
