Nvidia invests $3.5 billion in MediaTek to expand its edge-to-cloud AI platform collaboration.
Nvidia invested in MediaTek’s $3.5 billion convertible bonds, and the two companies will expand their cooperation in AI infrastructure, local AI computing and automotive platforms. MediaTek will adopt NVLink Fusion.
Nvidia announced an investment in MediaTek’s $3.5 billion convertible bonds and expanded the two companies’ AI computing collaboration from edge to cloud.The collaboration covers three major areas: AI infrastructure, local AI computing, and automobiles.
MediaTek will adopt NVIDIA's NVLink Fusion platform to provide hyperscale cloud service providers, cloud platforms, and cutting-edge model developers with a path to connect customized XPUs to NVLink rack-level AI factories. The two companies will also continue to collaborate on the development of RTX Spark and DGX Spark related PC chips, as well as platforms for software-defined vehicles.
