OpenAI and Microsoft jointly announced the official lifting of exclusive restrictions on their cloud collaboration.

Microsoft and OpenAI have revised their collaboration agreement, removing the exclusive cloud partnership restrictions. OpenAI products will still be primarily released on Azure and can be offered to customers through any cloud provider. Intellectual property licensing has changed from exclusive to non-exclusive, extending to 2032. Microsoft will no longer pay revenue sharing to OpenAI, while OpenAI's revenue sharing with Microsoft will continue until 2030 but with a capped total amount, decoupled from technological progress. Microsoft also gains the right to independently pursue AGI (Asynchronous Generating Indicators).
