Kimi completes $500 million in new funding

Chinese large-scale model company Kimi recently completed a $500 million Series C funding round, with IDG Capital leading the investment with $150 million. Existing shareholders, including Alibaba, Tencent, and Wang Huiwen, oversubscribed, bringing the post-money valuation to $4.3 billion. Founder Yang Zhilin revealed in an internal letter that the company has cash reserves exceeding 10 billion RMB, therefore "there is no rush to IPO." This round of financing will be used to accelerate the research and development of the K3 large-scale model and expand computing power.
