Zhipu's latest flagship model, GLM-5, is open source: its programming and agent capabilities have achieved state-of-the-art (SOTA) open source status.

Zhipu AI has open-sourced its GLM-5 large-scale model, expanding its parameter size to 744B (40B activations) and pre-training data to 28.5TB. It achieves state-of-the-art (SOTA) performance in both coding and agent capabilities, with overall performance approaching that of Claude Opus 4.5. This model leads open-source models in programming benchmarks such as SWE-bench and Terminal Bench, capable of end-to-end completion of complex systems engineering and long-range agent tasks, supporting resource planning scenarios such as vending machine operation simulation.
