Kimi, the dark side of the moon, has completed a new round of financing, raising $3.5 billion and reaching a valuation of $35 billion. It is currently seeking further funding at a pre-money valuation of approximately $50 billion. Kimi contributed weights to the Hugging Face open-source K3 model, which boasts 2.8 trillion total parameters and 104 billion activation parameters, making it the world's first open-source model with over 3 trillion parameters. K3 is based on the MoE architecture, and multiple platforms have announced compatibility with it, offering a price comparable to the Claude Sonnet 5 standard.
