Disney officially announced a $1 billion investment in OpenAI, enabling Sora to generate videos of characters such as Mickey Mouse.

Disney and OpenAI have entered into a three-year strategic partnership agreement, with Disney investing $1 billion in OpenAI and acquiring equity. Under the agreement, OpenAI's Sora video generation platform will gain IP licenses for over 200 Disney characters, including Mickey Mouse, Marvel superheroes, and classic Star Wars figures. Users will be able to create short videos featuring Disney characters using Sora, with selected content also airing on Disney+.
