OpenAI announced that free users will no longer face restrictions on text chat with ChatGPT, and the default model has been upgraded to GPT-5.6 Luna, offering superior performance compared to GPT-5.5 Instant. Free and Go subscribers can also use the newly added "Think" button to handle complex questions, but high-computational functions such as file uploads, image generation, and voice dialogue remain limited. Paid users will receive the more reliable and streamlined GPT-5.6 Sol and a 5-level "Think" intensity slider.
