OpenAI's MRC (Massive Open AI Training Network Protocol)

OpenAI, in collaboration with five tech giants—AMD, Broadcom, Intel, Microsoft, and NVIDIA—launched the Multi-Path Reliable Connection (MRC) protocol, open-sourcing it to the entire industry through OCP. Based on RoCE extensions, MRC employs a multi-plane network design and adaptive packet spraying technology to distribute data packets across hundreds of paths for parallel transmission, avoiding network congestion and hotspots, and reducing fault recovery time from seconds to microseconds.
