OpenAI announced that it is opening a lockout mode to all ChatGPT individual users (Free, Go, Plus, Pro). Once activated, this feature disables high-risk internet access functions such as real-time web browsing, in-depth research, Agent mode, image retrieval, and file downloads, allowing access only to cached content while retaining image upload and generation capabilities.
