Google unveils Magenta RealTime 2, a local real-time AI music model.

Google's Magenta team has released Magenta RealTime 2 (MRT2), a local real-time music AI model, available in a 2.4B high-quality version and a 230M high-speed version, both optimized for Apple Silicon. The model uses a frame-by-frame generation architecture, reducing latency from 3 seconds to approximately 200 milliseconds, and supports text, MIDI, and audio style control. Simultaneously, the free instrument application Jam and DAW plugin were released, enabling low-latency improvisational ensembles on Mac.
