Microsoft launches MAI-Transcribe-1, the world's most accurate transcription AI model.

Microsoft has launched its AI transcription model, MAI-Transcribe-1, which claims the highest accuracy globally with a 3.9% word error rate on the FLEURS benchmark. It supports 25 major languages, topping the charts in 11 core languages, and outperforming Whisper-large-v3 and Gemini 3.1 Flash. The model's batch transcription speed is 2.5 times faster than Azure Fast service, priced at $0.36 per hour. It is already available on the Microsoft Foundry platform, but currently does not support real-time transcription or speaker separation.
