OpenAI launches Daybreak, an AI-powered cyber defense tool, and invests $4 billion to establish a new company.

OpenAI announced the formation of the OpenAI Deployment Company, securing over $4 billion in initial funding and acquiring UK-based AI consultancy Tomoro. This will embed 150 cutting-edge deployment engineers into enterprises, helping clients deploy AI into core business processes such as sales and legal, transforming OpenAI from a model provider into an AI economic deployment layer. Simultaneously, OpenAI launched Daybreak, an AI cybersecurity tool that integrates top-tier models, Codex, and security partners to automate vulnerability discovery and remediation, accelerate network defense, and continuously ensure software security.
