Groq, a US AI inference chip unicorn, announced the completion of a $650 million funding round to expand its global AI inference cloud, aiming for 200 megawatts of computing power by 2027. Groq previously entered into a $20 billion licensing agreement with NVIDIA, and its core team has joined NVIDIA. It is now focusing on its inference cloud business, operating 13 data centers, serving over 5 million developers, and has appointed a new leadership team.
