Google is changing Gemini Notebooks to a flexible usage mechanism that is metered based on compute load, with limits refreshed every 5 hours; the new mechanism will be rolled out to consumer accounts starting September 2.
Google announced adjustments to the usage mechanism for Gemini Notebooks.The new mechanism will comprehensively consider the complexity, dialogue length, number of sources, and consumption of the functions used, and will change the quota refresh cycle from once a day to once every 5 hours.
The adjustment will be rolled out gradually to consumer accounts on both web and mobile platforms starting September 2nd; it was not fully effective at the time of the announcement. Once a user reaches their spending limit, some delayed tasks will be automatically generated and notifications sent upon refreshing the page.
