Claude Cowork and Claude Code desktop client added to Computer Use beta version.
Anthropic has added a Computer Use beta version to the Claude Cowork and Claude Code desktop applications, available to Pro and Max users. macOS 15 and above support running operations in a background window, which users can pause or stop at any time.
Anthropic has begun offering a beta version of Computer Use on the Claude Cowork and Claude Code desktop applications.
This feature is available to Pro and Max subscribers and is available for both macOS and Windows desktop applications. Claude can operate the desktop interface after authorization; users can pause or stop execution, and will need to grant the relevant permissions as prompted by the system.
The official documentation specifically states that macOS 15 and later versions allow Claude to run in a background window while the computer remains powered on; this background capability should not be extrapolated to mean that all Windows environments have the same behavior.
