Anthropic has launched a free Claude Content Checker, allowing users to check the content credentials in files.
This tool verifies whether a file contains an encrypted content certificate issued by Claude, used to identify Claude-generated or edited content that supports this mechanism. It checks the signature certificate, rather than guessing whether the content was generated by AI based on writing style.
The official description clearly distinguishes between the two capabilities: the publicly available Content Checker is not a general text watermark detector; watermark detection for Claude text output is still in private preview and has not yet been released as a public detection service.
